VMware vSphere 5 Installation

Hi,

Here is the Step by Step installation of VMware vSphere 5....vSphere 5 onwards only ESXi is the hypervisor from VMware

                     Put VMware ESXi disc in drive and boot the machine.. (Virtual/Physical)\

Boot Menu:


Loading ESXi installer



Shows VMware version and loading VMware ESXi installer



ESXi Installer WELCOME screen will come, press "Enter" to continue the installation


Press "F11" in EULA screen


Installer is scanning for available devices


Press Enter to continue with the selected disk (or you can change to required one)


Press Enter in default keyboard layout


Please enter the root password ( in ESXi 4 we'll set this after installation completed), and press enter to continue


Press "F11" to install


Installing ESXi 5.0.0


Installation Completed.....


After restart, the main screen of VMware ESXi 5.0.0 looks..


You can Download vSphere Client v5 and manage this ESXi

VMware vSphere in VMware WorkStation (ESX, vCenter) - Part2

Step by Step Procedure to install and manage ESX server with VMware vCenter Server..in VMware Workstation.

Part-2: VMware vCenter Server installation...

Create a New Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation, and install windows 2003/2008 64bit edition in that VM.

Insert VMware vCenter Server DVD in VM..  Autoplay will open pop up window.


Click on vSphere Client.


Installation wizard for vSphere Client 4.1 will open, click on next.


Click on next.. in End user Patent agreement..


Select "i accept...." click on next.


Click on next in Customer Information..


Click on next..in Destination folder


Click on Install in the Ready to install program screen....


After finishing installation, launch vSphere Client..


Enter IP address of ESX server and give user name and password..


Select "Install this certificate ....." and click on ignore..


Click on OK in evaluation Notice..


Here is the Main screen of ESX server in vSphere Client..


Now Install the VMware vCenter Server..

Open VMware vCenter installer and click on vCenter Server..


Click on OK in Choose setup language Dialog box.


Click on Next..


Click on Next in End user Patent Agreement..


Select "I accept to... " and click on Next..


Enter customer information and click on next..


Click on next in Database options.


Click on next in vCenter Server Service


Click on next in Destination Folder..


Click on next in vCenter Server linked mode options.


Click on next in Configure ports.


Click on next in vCenter Server JVM Memory.


Click on Install.


 Click on Finish once the installation is complete.


 Congrats we've successfully installed VMware vCenter Server..

VMware vSphere in VMware WorkStation (ESX, vCenter)

Step by Step Procedure to install and manage ESX server with VMware vCenter Server..in VMware Workstation.

Part-1: VMware ESX Server 4.1 installation...

Create a New Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation as follows..








here is the final VM


Power on the virtual machine..  ESX 4.1 boot menu will come, Press enter to install ESX in graphical mode


Loading of ESX will start..


Click on next in Welcome to ESX installer.


select i accept the EULA.


click on next in Select keyboard..


Click on next in Custome Drivers..


Click on Yes in Load the system drivers..


Click on next after completion of loading drivers..



Select Enter a serial no later in License.


Click Next on Network Configuration..



Click on next for adapter settings..



Click on next in Setup type..


Click on Next in ESX Storage Device


Click on the OK in the warning box


Select Time zone and click on next

Click on next in Date and time..


Set the root password..



Click on next in the summery page..


Installation starts now....



and Finished now..... Click on Next


Click on Finish to reboot the server...


And Finaly here is the ESX server Main Screen after reboot..




In Next part we'll install vCenter server in Windows 2008 x64 server and manage this ESX server.....
